Ulaanbaatar city has one very nice tophill and wonderful sightseeing place. It is Zaisan Hill near Bogd Khan mountain which is specially protected area ; it is located around 3 km far from the downtown of Ulaanbaatar city. By the way, it is one of the historical places Mongolians protect since Bogdkhant Mongolia was established. There is complex statue for Mongolian and Russian army who participated in the war against Japanese Kwangtung army between 1935 and 1945.This statue expresses history of Russian and Mongolian Friendship, and it made to be set mozokons. And the statue gives feeling to remember Russian soldiers who lost their lives during the war for Mongolian Safety and Independence. Thus , Mongolians respect this statue very nicely and keep it further. When walking up to the Zaisan Hill , there are around 300 stairs.

Arround Zaisan Hill

In summer time you can see surroundings of Ulaanbaatar city, Tuul river, its current, and trees nice and perfectly from the top. Many public resorts and service places around the complex are getting to centralize. Zaisan Hill is one of the places UB citizens, countryside’s folks even tourists. There are fast food, art and souvenir shop, cashemere shop, pub . From Zaisan Hill you can see tops of Chingelttei, Songinokhairkhan and Bayanzurkh mountains. Few years ago , a number of deers used to live near Zaisan Hill. But urbanization caused they could leave away. In recent years microdistrict and a statue of Budda burhan were built. If you go there you will see the biggest Budda on the way. This Budda is famous in Mongolia. In 2003 a tank , which was located in Khan Uul district, was moved and set in Zaisan Hill. Soon resort complex will be opened near Zaisan Hill. It also sounds good that project to make forests are implementing.

When to go

The Zaisan Hill can be visited the whole year round. After reaching the upper part of the hill, the views get especially beautiful during winter with the snow capped mountains surrounding the entire city. In summer when you go there , you should take cold drinks and water. In winter you should take a hot coffee or tea.

How to get there

There are some ways to get Zaisan Hill. You can hire a taxi. But it is a little expensive. Also you can go by public buses number of 7 and 43 to Zaisan from city centre.

The Zaisan Hill is very interesting historical site. It is one place you must not miss if you get the chance to go to the capital city of Mongolia.

At the lesson on Wednesday our classmates divided /split/ into 5 groups. Students will work together effectively, to learn more in small groups. Every member of groups choose role for a speaker, monitor, recorder and timekeeper. I was a monitor, which makes sure everyone is speaking English.
At the first, we discussed a text about Bulgan city, then worked together to answer the questions. Before, when we work in a team we never choose role like as speaker, monitor, recorder and timekeeper. I think, it was the first for us. During the lesson we tried to help each other, and we decided the same opinion. It was wonderful!

We looked up new words in the dictionary and wrote the answers using these new words. We had so many new words. We talked about beautiful areas, more interesting places for tourists in Mongolia. And we decided to write about Bogd Khan’s museum, Tconchinboldog- monument of Chingis Khan, square of Sukhebaatar and our team wrote some sentences about these areas.

I think, there are some advantages to work in a small group. For example, know how to get in contact with each other, learn more and get to know each other etc. I’m a new student.

In other words, to know
o	how to get in contact with each other
o	learn more each other
o	get to know each other
o	feel more comfortable
o	manage a work etc.

I’m a new student and I think, the lesson was interesting..
